Innomed Training - News

A group of 15 Turkish dentists flew to the UK at the end of November to attend a special 3-day training seminar in facial aesthetics hosted by Dr Xavier.

The increasing popularity of cosmetic treatments such as dermal filler and botulinum toxin (Botox) in Turkey has led to an increase in medical professionals seeking training in these treatments.

Vestiyer Publishing, a key dental-publishing company in Turkey - arranged the special master class with Dr Xavier's training company Innomed Training in central London. The dentists spent 3 days learning both theories of injectable cosmetic treatments as well as hands-on practice on a large number of willing models. Indeed, some of the dentists even had treatment themselves - such was their enthusiasm.

The unanimous feedback from the group was very positive - comments included "So many thanks to Dr Xavier and the team for this super course" and "I am really pleased, the course was really one of the best courses I have had attended"".

Dr Xavier remarked;

Innomed Training has fought off stiff competition to win the "Training Course of the Year" award at this year's Aesthetic Medicine Awards at the Royal Garden hotel in Kensington, London.

Innomed Training's comprehensive portfolio of CPD-accredited courses was voted the best thanks to votes cast and feedback from its customers (doctors, nurses and dentists) who have attended one or more of our courses.

The judges told us that voters applauded our training for its attention to detail and the strength of the practical content.

Delegates were also enthusiastic about the professionalism of the course staff and trainers and comments included descriptions such as "relevant and inspiring" and "I immediately began to implement what I had learned, with a resulting significant increase in my turnover and overwhelming client satisfaction".

The judging process

All 7 short-listed training providers were asked to supply the judges with a list of delegates who had previously attended their courses. These delegates where then asked to rate the training company on a range of important criteria, including the usefulness of the course for the practitioner's ongoing development, quality of course literature, the professionalism of the trainers and the accessibility and availability of courses.

The delegates then returned these independent surveys directly to the awards team, who calculated the average scores across all criteria to determine the final winner.

'Lesley Ash: Face-to-Face' .

Our, medical advisor and lead trainer, Dr Xavier, was interviewed about the thorny issue of non-medical practitioners, such as beauty therapists, offering injectable medical cosmetic treatments.

Dr Xavier, spoke-out on behalf of Innomed and the wider medical community against this practice and he highlighted the dangers to clients if they don't ask the right questions.

The programme also filmed one of our courses, run solely for qualified medical professionals, demonstrating our belief that beauty therapists have no place training in these medical treatments.

This followed a feature on a course in Doncaster that is run by a nurse who trains and certifies beauty therapists in how to use dermal fillers. Shockingly, Lesley Ash was even allowed to inject on their training. We believe that such misguided and potentially dangerous practices should not be allowed.

On the subject of training standards, Innomed Training has also been an active contributor in the consultation process for the new Training Standards for Injectable Treatments being developed by the Independent Healthcare Advisory Services (IHAS).

We have submitted feedback and suggestions to help shape the standards at the draft stages.

Our submissions have secured two key changes to the principles concerning trainer-to-delegate ratios. We believe these changes now help to provide a sensible and workable solution to ensure that standards improve.

Innomed Training has been short-listed in the finals of the Aesthetic Medicine Awards 2008 in the 'Best Training Course' category.

This achievement recognised the quality of our courses and, our entry included a number of testimonials from doctors, dentists and medical nurses who have attended our courses and who not only supported our entry but who were also happy to recommend us to others.
